The statement said Pakistan and Afghanistan will hold follow-up talks in Istanbul on November 6 to decide how to implement the mechanism. Turkey and Qatar "stand ready to continue to work with both parties to achieve lasting peace and stability."

Pakistan's Minister of Information and Broadcasting Ataula Talar told Pakistan media late on the 30th that the Afghan side had agreed and promised to take action against terrorist organizations in Afghanistan on the same day. Pakistan hopes that after the agreement comes into effect, terrorist attacks against Pakistan from Afghanistan will be stopped. He said the agreement also stipulates that if one party violates the ceasefire agreement. "Will face corresponding punishment."

Afghan government spokesman Zabiullah Mujahid issued a statement on social media on the 31st, saying that the two sides reached a consensus and will continue to conduct in-depth consultations on outstanding issues. Afghanistan hopes to establish positive bilateral relations with Pakistan and has always adhered to the principles of mutual respect, non-interference in each other's internal affairs, and not posing a threat to any party.

Pakistan and Afghanistan have exchanged fire many times in the border areas in recent days. Qatar's Ministry of Foreign Affairs said on the 19th of this month that under the mediation of Qatar and Turkey, Pakistan and Afghanistan agreed to an immediate ceasefire and will continue talks to ensure the sustainability of the ceasefire. On the 25th of this month, Pakistan and Afghanistan started a new round of dialogue in Istanbul, Turkey, to discuss specific mechanisms for implementing the ceasefire agreement and strengthening security cooperation.
