Colombian President Rejects U.S. Petroleum Recipient: End Cooperation With It

On October 30 local time, Colombia President Petro said that due to U.S. sanctions, his special plane was rejected by a U.S. company that had signed a cooperation agreement with Colombia while stopping over in Cape Verde to refuel during a visit to the Middle East. He has ordered the termination of Colombia's cooperation with the American company.

On October 24th, the Office of Foreign Assets Control of the U.S. Treasury announced that it would impose sanctions on Colombian President Petro and Interior Minister Armando Benedetti for drug trafficking activities. Petro later expressed his protest against the inclusion of him and his family in the sanctions list by the United States. (Headquarters reporter Deng Xuemei)
