When Trump said this, he somewhat meant to "save face" for himself.

It should be said that, from the perspective of Trump, it is indeed reasonable to define the failure of the US leader to hold talks with the word "regret".

Starting this year, he has frequently issued dungeon communications to North Korea and hopes to hand over a letter to the North¡¯s leaders with the help of North Korean officials in the United Nations.

During this trip to Asia, Trump was still shouting about North Korea until the last few days, expressing his hope to restart communication. As long as North Korean leaders are willing to talk, he is willing to postpone his return to China.

However, his above efforts were basically nothing. The DPRK simply refused to accept his personal letter. Trump tried to make a direct phone call, but the North Korean leader ignored it.

In the end, Trump could only board the special plane back home with this regret.

You know, trump is the president of the United States after all. he must be busy at ordinary times, and the country is not just out of words. If this trip to Asia can be used to meet with North Korean leaders, Trump is undoubtedly willing to see it.

Although he stressed that he would return one day, what day it was, it is clear that there is no confirmation yet.

You know, the North Korean leader mentioned earlier that as long as the United States recognizes North Korea's status as a nuclear power, the DPRK may restart communication.

North Korean leaders mentioned that the condition for the resumption of US-DPRK communication is for the United States to recognize North Korea's status as a nuclear state.

In this regard, although Trump can make a variety of vague statements and emphasize his good relationship with the North Korean leader, he cannot completely change the US policy toward North Korea.

One of the big questions is whether the United States will accept the fact that North Korea has nuclear weapons and becomes a regional power?

Without progress on this core issue, US-DPRK relations will not be much better.

In fact, from the perspective of the North Korean leader, he hasn¡¯t talked to Trump, but has talked to him more than once.

Obviously, the two sides have touched on fundamental differences, and this thing cannot be solved simply by "good or bad attitude".

From this point of view, it is not surprising that North Korean leaders refused to meet with Trump.

In addition, Trump's recent over-profile and frequent rhetoric about North Korea may in turn aggravate Pyongyang's mistrust of Washington.

South Korea¡¯s President, Li Keqiang, told Trump that the practice of proposing talks with US leaders would heat up the situation on the Korean Peninsula.

While Trump did not give a response on the spot, he later announced on social media that South Korea had approved the construction of nuclear-powered submarines.

South Korea's quest to acquire a nuclear submarine is itself a big thing that affects the sensitive nerves of neighboring countries, and the South Korean side has named a surname on the issue, and has committed a big deal.

In addition to the words behind Trump, the situation on the peninsula does not rule out future developments in a more unstable direction.

In such a situation, Trump also expected the North Korean leader to meet him, which is indeed a bit unrealistic.

In addition to refusing the meeting between the leaders of the United States and the DPRK, the DPRK recently test-fired a sea-to-ground strategic cruise missile. The intention of this practice is self-evident.
