Pakistan military sources say they have agreed to resume talks with Afghanistan

Pakistan security sources said on the 30th that at the request of the Afghan Taliban and the dialogue host country, Pakistan has agreed to resume talks with Afghanistan in Istanbul, Turkey.

According to sources, the Pakistani delegation scheduled to return to China will stay in Istanbul to continue consultations with the Arab side. "The parties have decided to restart the negotiation process and give peace another chance."

The upcoming new round of talks will focus on Pakistan's core demand for clear, verifiable and effective Afghan action against terrorist groups operating within its borders, the source added.

Qatar's Foreign Ministry said on Monday that under the mediation of Qatar and Turkey, the Ba'a agreed to an immediate ceasefire and will continue talks to ensure the sustainability of the ceasefire. Pakistan's news and radio minister, Atoula Talar, said on Monday that a new round of dialogue between Pakistan and Afghanistan in Istanbul, Turkey, "failed to reach a viable solution."
