Fu Cong emphasized that September this year marks the first anniversary of the establishment of the "Friends of Peace" group on the Ukrainian crisis. In the past year, the "Friends of Peace" group adhered to an objective and fair stance and an open and constructive attitude, and sent a clear and powerful signal that countries in the global South called for a ceasefire and war and supported a political settlement. After the meeting, the group issued a joint statement,Call for an early ceasefire, to avoid the spread of weapons to the parties to the conflict, to strengthen humanitarian assistance and the protection of civilians.The group expressed concern about the negative impact of unilateral sanctions, encouraged the parties concerned to reach a political solution through negotiations, supported the UN's role in promoting diplomatic efforts, and continued to play a constructive role in the peaceful settlement of the conflict.
