Local time on October 29,Central journalistU.S. House officials have been notified that they will not be able to receive the salary originally scheduled for October 31.
"Due to disruptions in appropriations, the Office of the Administrator is not authorized to issue salaries until Congress passes an interim appropriations resolution or a fiscal year 2026 appropriations bill and signs into effect," the notice said.
Unlike Senate employees who are paid twice a month, House employees are paid once a month and are therefore more directly affected.
