Saudi Aramco President: Global South drives global energy demand growth

Xinhua Agency, Riyadh, October 29 (Reporter Luo Chen Wang Haizhou) Amin Nasser, President and CEO of Saudi Arabia National Oil Company (Saudi Aramco), said in Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia, on the 28th that global energy demand is still strong, and the continued growth of energy demand is mainly driven by countries in the global south.

Nasser said during the Saudi Future Investment Initiative conference that 80% of the current global energy demand comes from the demand for fossil fuels, and that oil and natural gas will continue to be an important part of the global energy structure over the next few decades.

Nasser said Saudi Aramco plans to increase natural gas output by 60% by 2030, while the company is also continuing to increase its investment in renewable energy and liquid raw materials chemistry and while global exploration is slowing down, we are still continuing to explore projects to look for new opportunities in areas such as natural gas.”

The Future Investment Initiative Conference is the largest international investment and innovation forum in the Middle East, opened on 27th and will last four days.
