South Korean and US presidents meet to discuss consolidating alliance

On October 29, South Korea's President, Li, met with U.S. President Donald Trump, whom he visited in South Korea on May 29, to discuss issues such as consolidating the Korean-American alliance.

According to South Korea's presidential office, Li said at the meeting that South Korea plans to significantly increase its self-defense forces by raising the national defense budget and developing the national defense industry, and reduce the defense burden on the United States.

Trump said he would continue to maintain good relations with South Korea and jointly resolve the Korean Peninsula issue.
