On October 29, the South Korean government held a memorial ceremony at Gwanghwamun Square in Seoul on the third anniversary of the Itaewon stampede accident. It was the first time the South Korean government had held an official memorial service for the accident, with a one-minute siren sounding throughout Seoul. About 300 people attended the ceremony, including families of the victims, parliamentarians and government officials.

On October 29, 2022, a serious stomping accident occurred at the Seoul Pearl Tail, killing 159 people and wounding 195 people.
