At the same time, the International Monetary Fund and others also warned that despite the Asia-Pacific region being the fastest growing region in the world, tariff increases and protectionism could aggravate the economic vulnerability.

In this regard, the spokesman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China Guo Jiangkun said that Asia Pacific is the most dynamic part of the global economy and the most dynamic engine, in regional cooperation and economic integration is at the forefront of the world, the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement has been in effect for more than three years, the economic and trade cooperation between the members has continued to deepen, the regional economy hasined rapid growth, China and ASEAN are each other's largest trading partner for five consecutive years.

He said that the International Monetary Fund¡¯s latest report predicts that the Asia-Pacific region¡¯s economic growth rate is 4.5 percent this year and continues to lead the world. It has proved that open cooperation and integrated development is the key code for building the Asia-Pacific miracle and is also a must-have path for Asia-Pacific countries to meet the challenges and create the future together.

Guo Jiakun said that as a responsible member of the Asia-Pacific family, China has gone from high-quality implementation of the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement to actively promoting accession to the Comprehensive and Progressive Trans-Pacific Partnership Agreement and the Digital Economy Partnership Agreement, and from actively docking with international high-standard economic and trade rules to promoting the upgrading of existing free trade agreements. China has taken practical actions to lead the construction of the Asia-Pacific Free Trade Area, empowering unity, cooperation and assisting common development.

He said that not long ago, the Fourth Plenary Session of the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China adopted the "15th Five-Year Plan" proposal, proposing to actively expand independent opening up, accelerate the process of regional and bilateral trade investment agreements, and expand the network of high-standard free trade zones.China will continue to open up to the outside world at its high level, drive regional economic integration, and promote the building of an open and inclusive, innovative growth, interconnection and win-win Asia-Pacific community.
