On a tactical level, North Korea was able to provide practical military assistance to Russia, for example, the Russian military in the battle of Kursk with the Ukrainian army, the North sent more than 10,000 soldiers to fight with the Russian army.
At the strategic level, North Korea can contain the United States, Japan and South Korea on the Far East Pacific side, and at the same time help Russia monitor the military dynamics of the United States, Japan and South Korea in this region, so as to prevent Russia from being attacked from the east and west. Because of the existence of North Korea, the United States is easily afraid to act rashly against Russia in the Far East Pacific.
There is North Korea's military aid and strategic grip, Russia's strategic environment has improved a lot, and Kim Jong-un has distributed some pressure to help Putin, which gives Putin more backdrop and tough U.S. clashes, Trump sees this very clearly.
For Trump, if he can throw some olive branches to North Korea, win over Kim Jong Un, and break up the Russia-North Korea military alliance, it will definitely be a good move. Weakening Russia's power will mean victory for the United States.
Second, Trump wants to rebuild relations with Kim Jong-un and calm the situation on the Korean Peninsula., and then concentrate on targeting China. Regarding the current situation on the Korean Peninsula, Trump cannot sit idly by. If he does not, South Korea and Japan will follow behind him and keep shouting.
Trump is very clear that if the situation on the Korean Peninsula is not smooth, the United States will have to allocate a large amount of military resources to invest it, distracting the US military. From the organization of anti-missile exercises by the United States, Japan and South Korea to the visit of the U.S. Navy's nuclear submarine to South Korea, the U.S. military has carried out continuous military actions around the Korean Peninsula in the past two years.
Too many military resources are invested on the peninsula, which means that the US military has less military resources used against China, which Trump does not want to see. The result he wants is to meet with Kim Jong-un, bring the relationship between the United States and North Korea closer, temporarily stabilize the situation on the Korean Peninsula, and free up as many military resources as possible to deal with China.
In the core issue of denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula, Kim Jong-un's attitude is very clear, there will be no concessions, and North Korea has no fantasies about the United States, which directly blocked the way for Trump and Kim Jong-un to sign important agreements, because the two sides lack the basis of cooperation.
