International giant announces layoffs of 14,000 people

On October 28 local time, according to media reports such as ABC and the Associated Press, Amazon announced that it would cut about 14,000 corporate jobs, accounting for 4% of its approximately 350,000 corporate employees. Amazon executives said the layoffs are aimed at improving decision-making efficiency and diverting resources to core businesses. It is reported that affected employees will receive notices one after another on the same day, and the company will provide up to 90 days of internal transfer opportunities, priority recruitment support, and compensation measures such as severance pay and health insurance.

According to reports, Amazon has a total of about 15.6 million employees worldwide, the vast majority of which are warehousing workers, with about 350,000 corporate employees predisposed to white-collar jobs.
