WHO: Six Sudanese medical personnel abducted by militants

On October 28, local time, the World Health Organization issued a statement stating that the Saudi maternity hospital in El Fasher, the capital of Northern Darfur State in western Sudan, was attacked by militants that day and six medical staff were kidnapped.

The statement said that the Saudi maternity hospital was attacked on the 26th of this month, killing one nurse and injuring three medical staff. The hospital was attacked again on the 28th, and four doctors, one nurse and one pharmacist were kidnapped by armed elements. WHO calls on relevant parties to release the tied medical staff as soon as possible. The statement did not disclose more details of the attack.
