OpenAI hasly announced that it has completed its capital restructuring and established its structure as a non-profit holding business for profit.
OpenAI said its non-profit organization is now called the OpenAI Foundation and holds about $130 billion in its for-profit unit. OpenAI says its for-profit arm is now a public welfare company called OpenAI Group PBC. Under the new structure, the OpenAI Foundation will hold a 26% stake in the for-profit sector, with current and former employees and investors holding a combined 47%. Microsoft said it supports the restructuring, saying its investment in OpenAI Group PBC is now valued at about $135 billion, equivalent to 27% of the company's diluted stake.
