The United States has ushered in "Darkest Hour" week
Just finished a radiation course
Biden, 82, announced
The United States is in a “dark time.”

On Sunday, Biden stood trembling to the podium in Boston, using his trademark heavy tone: "Friends, I can't whitewash reality. These are dark days," and telling people to "get back on their feet."

The face is somewhat absurd – an eighty-year-old worried about his health is teaching the country how to “rise up again”. He generously praises those “warriors” who dare to oppose Trump: resigned civil servants, late-night comedians, and a few star rebels Republicans.

The most amazing thing is his last sentence "America is not a fairy tale". This is absolutely true-look at this scene in front of you: the old ruler, the divisive political situation, and the cliché that has been used for 250 years. When this country needs clear direction and youthful vitality most, what we get is a bowl of lukewarm nostalgic chicken soup.

The speech itself is the best metaphor for America's current predicament: trying to light the torch of hope, but even the flame in one's own hands seems so weak. The audience applauded sparsely, and I don't know how many people were really convinced by this old tune of "optimism".
