According to media reports such as the U.S. Air Force magazine "Air Force" website, several U.S. Air Force B-1B "gun cavalry" bombers flew near Venezuela on 27 local time.

The report, citing open source flight tracking data, said the bombers took off from the Great Fox Air Force Base in North Dakota, and flew south when the reactor was turned on, continuing to fly south after refuelling over Florida. The report said that, like the previous flight, the B-1B bombers were clearly visible on the open source flight tracking website ¨C indicating that the Pentagon did not try to hide the flight.

This is the third time since October 15 that U.S. Air Force bombers have carried out such flights off the Venezuelan coast. U.S. military officials have referred to it as a ¡°bomber attack demonstration.¡±This month, two U.S. Air Force B-1B bombers approached Venezuela, about 50 miles (about 80 kilometers) from the Venezuelan coast; this month, the U.S. military also sent three B-52H strategic bombers and F-35B invisible fighters to fly together near the Venezuelan coast.

The report continued that during the flight on the 27th, the B-1B bomber was only about 20 miles (about 32 kilometers) away from Venezuela and flew near the northern coast of the country. This was the closest of the three missions to Venezuela by the U.S. bomber.

According to reports, the B-1B bomber entered service in the mid-1980s, with a maximum bomb load of about 60 tons and a maximum flight speed of Mach 1.2. It is nicknamed "Lancer".

Since September, the Trump administration has claimed to have sunk 10 so-called "drug ships" and killed more than 40 "drug dealers" off the coast of Venezuela and the international waters of the eastern Pacific Ocean. According to recent reports from the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration, Venezuela is not the main source of drugs flowing into the United States. The Venezuelan government has repeatedly accused the United States of intending to instigate regime change in Venezuela through military threats and conduct military expansion in Latin America.
