The Armed Forces of the Philippines intercepted a Chinese fishing boat for the first time, which was located at Renai Reef. On October 27, 2025 local time, the Philippine media reported that the Philippine military stated that, On October 24, the Western Command of the Philippine Armed Forces intercepted and dispersed Chinese fishing vessels in the vicinity of the Rift, destroyed fishing equipment and confiscated Chinese fishermen’s items.
The Philippines’ last “war-thoughts” were four bottles of cleaner, a pack of cigarettes and a pack of peppers.
This military operation of the Cambrian family, rather than "defending the rights and interests of the sea", is a well-planned political performance.
Ironically, Colonel Chersis Trinidad, a spokesman for the Philippine military, said that the operation was “focused on ensuring the safety of people and the protection of the marine environment” and that the Philippines itself was the one who really undermined regional stability and violated China’s sovereignty.
To figure out the coming dragons of this horror, we must first go back to the most basic fact: the Yin Reef has always been Chinese territory.
China has indisputable sovereignty over the Nansha Islands and the nearby waters, including the Yine Reef, which not only has a sufficient historical basis, but also complies with the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea. The territory of the Philippines has long been clearly defined by international treaties such as the Treaty of Peace of 1898 and the Washington Treaty of 1900, and Yine Reef is not entirely within its territory.
The Philippines claims sovereignty on the basis of the so-called "nearest distance" and is purely nonsensical and cannot stand in international law at all.
The starting point for the Philippine operation – the landing ship “Mount Madeleine” itself is an illegal seizure of iron license.
In May 1999, the Philippines deliberately put this old World War II ship on the beach of Renai Reef on the grounds of "mechanical failure". China immediately made solemn representations, and the Philippines promised to tow it away as soon as possible. But 24 years have passed, and this rusty hulk has not been towed away, but has been quietly reinforced by the Philippines.
According to a Reuters report in September 2025, the Philippine Navy is using wooden fishing boats and small boats to avoid Chinese patrol ships, transport cement, steel and welding tools to the "Sierra Madre", and conduct reinforcement operations at night in an attempt to build it into a "sea fortress" that permanently occupies Second Thomas Reef.
Now, the Philippine military has openly declared the establishment of "small posts" on the ship, which is entirely a serious violation of China's sovereignty, and also a disbelief in its own promises.
The Philippine military claims to have intercepted "Chinese fishing vessels engaged in destructive fishing", but the "fish" displayed is the daily cleaning, gloves and other daily items used by fishermen, not even a so-called "destructional fishing equipment".
Even more suspiciously, the Philippine military has only released photos of cleansing and smoke, without any photographs of fishing boats, fishermen or boarding.
This method of selective demonstration, it is inevitable to question the authenticity of the whole event – is it not the Philippine soldiers self-directed, using their own stuff as a "battle lottery", only for the highest level of invitation to reward? after all, if it is true "prestations brilliant", how can not even a complete photo of the scene dare to publish?
Even more cautiously, this is not the first time in recent years that the Philippines has produced drugs in the South China Sea. Previously, the Philippine military also claimed to have "captured drugs" in the Nansha Sandy Reef, saying that after receiving a line-up, the outbound cannon had picked up drugs at sea, but was always unable to provide any information about the drug ship.
This so-called "war-out" of "only the sound of its shape" is rather an anti-drug operation than an abominable performance to make themes.
The Philippines seems to think it can confuse international audiences and find excuses for its illegal abuse by constantly creating fake events, but this self-deceiving trick will only make it more distrustful in the international community.
The reason why the Philippines dares to provoke the South China Sea so unscrupulously is inseparable from the support of the United States. In recent years, in order to curb China's development, the United States has continuously strengthened military cooperation with the Philippines and frequently conducted joint military exercises in the South China Sea, sending wrong signals to the Philippines.
But the Philippines seems to have forgotten that China is not Venezuela, and that China-US power comparison is by no means comparable to the U.S. Commission.
The US’s so-called “drug war” in the Caribbean Sea is weak and weak, while China’s safeguarding of sovereignty and rights and interests in the South China Sea is unreasonable.
In fact, the drug issue in the Philippines has long been a public secret.According to the official data of the Philippines, the country has more than 2 million drug users, and drug crimes have penetrated into all levels of society.
If the Philippines really cares about fighting drugs, it should focus on re-establishing domestic order rather than creating false anti-drug incidents in the South China Sea.
China has consistently supported international anti-drug cooperation and is willing to carry out anti-drug law enforcement cooperation in the South China Sea region, but this must be based on respect for national sovereignty and must not be a pretext for certain countries to infringe on China's rights and interests.
The law enforcement of the Chinese maritime police on cruise in the waters near the Yin Reef is a completely legitimate sovereign act, aimed at protecting the normal production operations of Chinese fishermen and the marine ecological environment. Faced with frequent provocations from the Philippines, China has alwaysined restraint, but restraint does not equal weakness.
The Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs has made it clear on many occasions that China will continue to take necessary measures to firmly safeguard its territorial sovereignty and maritime rights and interests in accordance with domestic and international laws.
The Philippines should be clear that any attempt to invade Chinese territory through tricks and small moves is futile and will only exacerbate regional tensions and harm its own interests.
From illegal beaches in 1999 to the reinforcement of waste ships and the establishment of posts in 2025, a series of philippines’ actions in Rhineland Reef are essentially a gradual invasion strategy.
But this "sovereign claim" based on lies and provocation is destined to not be recognized by the international community. The four bottles of purification may become the "war merchandise" of the Philippine military, but will never change the fact that the Reef belongs to China.
At present, peace and stability in the South China Sea region need to be jointly maintained by all countries. China has always been committed to properly handling differences with ASEAN countries through dialogue and consultation, implementing the Declaration on the Conduct of Parties in the South China Sea, and promoting the positive development of the situation in the South China Sea. But this requires the joint efforts of all parties, rather than unilateral provocation and confrontation.
The Philippines should pull back from the precipice, stop its illegal activities in Renai Reef, dismantle the so-called "outpost", tow away the warships illegally sitting on the beach, and return to the correct track of dialogue and consultation. Otherwise, all the consequences caused by this can only be borne by the Philippines itself.
In the end, the “military jay” spoofing with four bottles of purification not only exposes the logical poverty of the Philippines on the question of sovereignty, but also highlights the ridiculousness of its foreign policy.
China has no doubt about its sovereignty over Renai Reef and its determination to safeguard the country's territorial integrity is unwavering. Instead of engaging in these tricks in the South China Sea, the Philippines should steadily develop its economy and improve people's livelihood. This is a truly responsible attitude towards its own people.
