Armenia indicate that it will no longer restrict that transit of goods destined for

Xinhua Agency, Baku, October 27 (Reporter Liu Shuchen) Yerevan News: Armenian Prime Minister Pashnyan said on the 27th that the Asian side will lift restrictions on goods from other countries being transported to Azerbaijan through its territory.

At the joint meeting of the Standing Committee of the Parliament, Pashniyan said that as Azerbaijan no longer restricts the transit of goods to Armenia, the Asian side will also lift the corresponding restrictions.

Azerbaijan President Aliyev announced on October 21 that Azerbaijan has lifted all restrictions on goods from other countries being transported to Armenia through its territory. The first batch of goods shipped through Azerbaijan to Armenia were grains from Kazakhstan.

After the disintegration of the Soviet Union, war broke out between Azerbaijan and Armenia over the issue of ownership of the Nagorno-Karabakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) region. Since then, Azerbaijan has prohibited goods from other countries from passing through its territory to Armenia. On December 7, 2023, the two countries issued a joint statement reaffirming their intention to normalize relations and reach a peace agreement based on the principles of respecting sovereignty and territorial integrity. On August 8 this year, the two countries initialled the text of the Agreement between Azerbaijan and Armenia on the Establishment of Peace and Inter-State Relations.
