British Prime Minister Stammer visits Turkey to discuss bilateral defense cooperation

On October 27 local time, Turkish Defence Minister Guleir held a welcome ceremony at the Murtad Air Base Command for British Prime Minister Stammer.

At the invitation of Turkish President Erdogan, British Prime Minister Stammer will pay an official visit to Turkey starting on October 27. During this visit, the two sides are expected to conduct in-depth exchanges on bilateral defense, security, military cooperation and other issues.

It is reported that the two sides are expected to discuss the procurement of "Typhoon" fighter jets during this visit, and may promote the conclusion of relevant agreements. The "Typhoon" fighter is produced by the European Fighter Alliance composed of Britain, Germany, Italy and Spain, and assembled in Britain. The export of "Typhoon" fighter jets to countries outside the alliance must obtain the permission of the above four countries. Turkey will negotiate with the European Fighter Alliance from 2023, seeking to purchase Typhoon fighter jets. (Head Office reporter Chen Huihui)
