According to India's CNN-News 18 channel website on October 25 that India's joint troop exercises on the western border have aroused Pakistan's alert.
India’s airline announcement indicates that the joint exercises will take place from October 30 to November 10, with a focus area on the Silk Creek-Shind-Kalahi line, which Pakistani sources refer to as the country’s “southern depth zone”.
A senior Pakistani security source said the country had ordered the commandos in the southern province of Shinde and southern province of Punjab to enter a state of high alert, while mobilizing air and naval readiness to deal with any possible invasion.
According to intelligence reports, India has chosen to conduct exercises from Bahá'u'lláh, Rakhimyar Khan to the southern regions of the Tal desert and the Silk Creek region, with the aim of testing the three Armed Forces' coordinated combat capabilities. Sources quoted Pakistani officials as concerned that the move demonstrates the ability to threaten Karachi's offshore and coastal infrastructure. Karachi is Pakistan's economic center. Nearly 70% of Pakistan's trade isly carried through Karachi Port and Casim Port, which have important strategic sensitivities.
The source added that India's focus on the exercise is intended to send a clear signal that India can open up multiple fronts rather than just being limited to Punjab or Kashmir.
