The UN Interim Forces in Lebanon (UNFPA) issued a statement on Monday that an Israeli defense drone dropped a grenade on the peacekeepers carrying out the mission on the same day, after which an Israeli tank fired at peacekeepers.
The statement said the attack occurred around 5:45 p.m. on the 26th, located near the village of Kila, on the southern border of Lebanon, with no casualties or property losses.
Earlier in the same location, an Israeli drone provokingly flew over the Union Forces patrol, and peacekeepers took the necessary defensive countermeasures against the drone.
The statement believes that the defence forces' actions violate UN Security Council Resolution 1701, violate Lebanon's sovereignty and show disregard for the security of peacekeepers.
This is the third time the Union forces have issued a statement this month condemning Israeli attacks on peacekeepers.
