Two US military planes crashed one after another in the South China Sea, and the cause is under investigation

According to the U.S. Navy, at about 2:45 pm local time on October 26, a U.S. Navy MH -60R Seahawk helicopter belonging to the 73rd Helicopter Maritime Strike Squadron crashed into the South China Sea while taking off from the aircraft carrier USS Nimitz. All three crew members on board were rescued.

At 3:15 p.m. local time, an F/A-18F “Supergirl Bear” fighter aircraft, which belonged to the 22nd Fighter Squadron, also crashed into the South China Sea while taking off from the Nimitz.

The U.S. military said that the causes of these two crashes are currently under investigation. (CCTV International News)
