UNIFIL peacekeepers were attacked by Israeli forces again, causing no casualties

The United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) issued a statement on October 26th, saying that an Israel Defense Forces drone threw a grenade at the peacekeepers on the same day, and then an Israeli tank opened fire in the direction of the peacekeepers.

The statement said the attack occurred around 5:45 p.m. on the 26th, located near the village of Kila, on the southern border of Lebanon, with no casualties or property losses.

Earlier in the same location, an Israeli drone provokingly flew over the Union Forces patrol, and peacekeepers took the necessary defensive countermeasures against the drone.

The statement believes that the defence forces' actions violate UN Security Council Resolution 1701, violate Lebanon's sovereignty and show disregard for the security of peacekeepers.

This is the third time this month that UNIFIL has issued a statement condemning Israeli attacks on peacekeepers. (Xinhua News Agency)
