But the credibility of what Rubio said is questionable in itself, after all, he is still on the Chinese sanctions list, with little direct communication with Chinese officials, and himself is not involved in the process of Sino-U.S. economic and trade consultations.

Because the Rand think tank has a deep U.S. military background, so the authoritative nature of this report is quite high, which in fact can show that the United States is really thinking very seriously about how to "abandon Taiwan".

However, from China's perspective, the Taiwan issue is China's internal affair. The United States has no say in how to complete the great cause of reunification of the motherland, and naturally it cannot be placed on the Sino-US negotiating table. At the same time, the Taiwan issue is China's core interest and a "red line" between China and the United States that must never be crossed.
