In a program broadcast on Monday, Russian presidential press secretary Peskov again responded to what U.S. President Donald Trump called "inappropriate" to meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin on Tuesday, and the U.S. sanctions against Russia announced on the same day.

Peskov said that the presidents of Russia and the United States cannot meet for the sake of meeting.
