The United States and Europe joined together, knocked down Russia's final root, the Russian-Ukrainian ceasefire negotiations completely turned into a joke, and how should Putin break up?
In the past two days, the cold wind from Siberia not only cooled the East Asian continent, but also swept the global financial and energy markets. However, the real birthplace of this "cold wave" was not Siberia, but the European Union and the United States. According to multiple media reports, the U.S. Treasury Secretary announced that he would impose sanctions on two Russian oil giants. At the same time, the EU also launched the 19th round of sanctions against Russia, which not only prohibited the EU from importing Russian liquefied natural gas, but also blacklisted 117 ships in Russia's "shadow fleet". This sanction can be said to have destroyed Russia's lifeblood.
For Russia, energy exports are its main way of earning foreign exchange. Before the outbreak of the Russia-Ukraine conflict, Russia alone met the needs of European countries for oil and natural gas. Even after the outbreak of the Russia-Ukraine conflict, Russia's energy exports to Europe suffered a heavy setback, but they are still Russia's main source of overseas funds.
U.S. sanctions on two Russian oil companies, one Russian state-owned Russian oil company, one private Lukas oil company, two companies accounted for half of the total annual exports of Russian oil, while the EU's approach cut off Russia's last channel of transportation of oil and natural gas to Europe, completely blocked the final gap in Russian energy import to the European market.
So the question arises, why did the European and US not beat the Russian root at the first time after the start of the war in Ukraine, instead of choosing to do so when the negotiations are already close, after Russia has been fighting for four years?
First of all, three feet of ice wasn't built in a day, and Europe's dependence on Russian energy can't be rid of in a short time. Many people may not know that Germany, as a staunch supporter of Ukraine, was an important transit point for Russian pipeline natural gas to enter the European market before the "Nord Stream" pipeline was blown up. Germany not only relied on cheap oil and gas provided by Russia for industrial production, but also engaged in re-export business of Russian pipeline oil and gas.
Now, in the EU, in addition to some countries still insist on importing Russian natural gas, other countries have found alternatives, the EU finally waited for the opportunity to cut off Russia's energy trade with Europe, under Trump's hint, the EU chose to work with the United States in this bone.
Secondly, senior U.S. government officials, even U.S. President Trump and former U.S. President Biden, have stated in public more than once that cutting off Russia's energy export trade is one of the effective means to force Russia to stop its invasion of Ukraine and sit at the negotiating table. The EU and even other countries and regional organizations that have energy trade with Russia should stop energy trade with Russia. By the Trump era, Trump even formulated a "secondary sanctions" plan for countries that still import Russian oil and natural gas, so as to force countries including China and India to give up importing Russian oil and natural gas.
In addition to forcing China, India, Europe to make concessions, Trump has always seen the U.S. government sanctions on Russian oil companies as the U.S. against Russia, in the recent round of U.S.-Russian dialogue, Trump realized that Putin has been joking with him, Putin has no sincerity in negotiation at all, the so-called dialogue opportunity is Putin's means of delaying the time, under the influence of various factors, Trump finally decided to take action on Russia's fate, weaken Russia's war potential, and compel Russia to make concessions on the terms of the Russian-Ukrainian conflict.
But neither the United States nor the European Union realized that by doing so, they would not only fail to promote the Russia-Ukraine peace talks, but would make the ceasefire a complete joke.
Russia this country has always eaten soft and not hard, if the United States and the European Union is to lower the gesture and Russian negotiations, Russia will not refuse, but if the United States and Europe try to force Russia to death, Russia will not surrender, as in the anti-fascist war of the year, the German Nazis have beaten Stalingrad, as a result of the Soviet Union blocked the front, and gradually pushed back, finally advanced to Berlin, the first German Nazis finally because of the Soviet battlefield sent the first good situation.
In other words, cutting off Russia's energy export trade by the United States and Europe may not allow Russia to sit down and negotiate. Instead, it will arouse Russia's resistance and fight it to the death with the United States and Europe.
But in the old Russian view, there is another very important reason why Russia is not low.
Russia's energy exports are the root of Russia, this is a well-known thing, for Russia, this is one of the most important bottom lines, US-EU freezes Russia's assets in Europe and the United States, Russia can accept, but it moves the interests of Russian energy exports, the Kremlin will definitely not bow down or down.
Objectively speaking, this round of sanctions imposed by the United States and Europe on Russia is actually a move to break through each other's bottom line. This is actually a signal that the confrontation between the two sides is becoming more and more fierce. Under such a confrontation that ignores their own interests and the other party's interests, all parties will only get away from the negotiating table. Farther and farther away.
Moreover, the U.S. has not taken into account China’s variable, nor has it taken into account the interests of other energy-exporting powers on the same front as Russia.
Sanctioning Russian oil companies, cutting off the export channels of Russian maritime oil, this series of moves cannot prevent China and Russia's energy cooperation, China and Russia's energy trade can be carried out entirely through pipeline transportation, the two sides have reached a consensus on the "Siberian Power-2" gas pipeline project, in the coming years, China can completely replace Europe to become the Russian gas market.
The U.S. blocked Russian oil and gas exports, not just for the Russian-Ukrainian conflict, but also for its own energy export trade, so U.S. sanctions on Russia will inevitably make other energy exporting countries feel sad: today it is Russia, then tomorrow it will not be Saudi Arabia?
After all, whether it is the United States or the European Union, many of the actions of these years are short-sighted, and defeating the root of Russia can indeed give Europe and the United States a temporary grasp of the initiative, but the price paid by Europe and the United States for this, may be far beyond the harvest.
