The National Hurricane Center of the United States said on the 25th that tropical storm Melissa has strengthened into a hurricane.

The National Hurricane Center said in its latest report that Hurricane "Melissa" is currently located about 380 kilometers southwest of Port Prince of Haiti, with a maximum sustained wind speed of 120 kilometers per hour.

The Dominican and Haiti civil defense departments said on the 24th that "Melissa" had killed three Haiti and one Dominican.
