Xinhua News Agency, Beijing, October 25, 2025 October 25, 2025 marks the 75th anniversary of the Chinese People's Volunteers' overseas operations to resist U.S. aggression and aid Korea. Recently, China and the DPRK jointly held a series of commemorative activities to deeply commemorate the great achievements of the volunteer martyrs.

On the morning of the 25th local time, China and the DPRK held a flower basket laying ceremony at the China-DPRK Friendship Tower in Pyongyang, North Korea to commemorate the 75th anniversary of Chinese people's Volunteer Army's overseas war to resist U.S. aggression and aid Korea. Flower baskets presented in the name of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, the State Council, the Central Military Commission, the Central Committee, the Cabinet and the Central Military Commission of the Workers' Party of Korea are placed directly in front of the Friendship Tower. The red ribbon of the flower basket reads "Chinese people's Volunteer Army martyrs are immortal".

China's ambassador to the DPRK, Wang Alai, led diplomatic representatives of the embassy and Chinese representatives from all walks of life in the DPRK, a delegation of anti-US military veterans, relatives of martyrs and cadres of central state organs, alternate members of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the DPRK's Labour Party, the head of the relevant departments of the Ministry of International Affairs and the DPRK's political army, representatives of all walks of life, were present.

At noon that day, China and North Korea jointly swept the Huicang China People's Volunteer Army Martyrs Cemetery. Both sides laid flower baskets and observed a moment of silence to the bronze statue of the Volunteer Army, and laid flowers and wine to the tombs of 134 Volunteer Army martyrs, including Martyr Mao Anying, to express their condolences.

At about 8:45 a.m., a ceremony to lay a flower basket to the Monument to the Martyrs of the U.S. Aggression and Aid Korea in Shenyang, Liaoning Province was grandly held. A total of about 500 people, responsible comrades of the Liaoning Provincial Committee and Provincial Government of the Communist Party of China, the Consul General of the DPRK in Shenyang, veteran volunteer soldiers and representatives of martyrs who participated in the War to Resist U.S. Aggression and Aid Korea, representatives of officers and soldiers, and representatives of the masses from all walks of life attended the event. The audience took off their hats and observed a moment of silence, paid homage to the monument, and presented flowers to the martyrs.

At 8:30 a.m., the ceremony to lay flower baskets to the Dandong Memorial Tower of the China People's Volunteer Army to resist U.S. aggression and aid Korea officially began in Dandong, Liaoning Province. Relevant comrades from the Dandong Municipal Party Committee, deputy consul general of the Korean Consulate General in Shenyang and more than 200 representatives from all walks of life attended the ceremony.

In the afternoon, a delegation of the Chinese People's Liberation Army arrived in Pyongyang for a visit to North Korea and participated in the 75th anniversary of the Chinese People's Volunteer Army's fight against US aid.

In the evening, the DPRK Embassy in China and the Chinese Embassy in the DPRK also held commemorative receptions in Beijing and Pyongyang respectively. Relevant responsible persons of the Chinese Academy of Military Sciences and the DPRK National Defense Ministry attended as guests of honor.

In addition, on October 24, General Secretary of the DPRK Labour Party and State Chairman Kim Jong-un led the DPRK Party and state leaders to a special trip to the Chinese People's Volunteer Army Martyrs Lonely Garden to pay tribute to flower baskets, volunteer army martyrs and other martyrs.
