Recently, a video of a Chinese woman climbing the railing of a bridge in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, and being dragged down by police and passers-by appeared on social media.

The China Embassy in Cambodia attached great importance to this and immediately contacted the Cambodian police to understand and verify the relevant situation. The Phnom Penh City Police Department said that a China woman climbed the railing of the Moradok Techo flyover in a drunken state on the evening of October 22. She showed signs of suicide. Police and enthusiastic passers-by provided emergency rescue on the spot. Upon inquiry, the woman said that she was in a bad mood because her boyfriend proposed to break up and made dangerous moves after drinking. The Cambodian police advised him and contacted the friend of the person involved to come and pick him up. Rumors that the China woman was kidnapped are not true.
