Pentagon confirms that money has arrived

The U.S. Department of Defense confirmed on Monday that it received an anonymous donation of $1.3 billion to pay U.S. military expenses during the government shutdown.

Pentagon spokesman Sean Panel said the donations were spent on wages and welfare expenses for serving personnel. The U.S. media said it is currently unclear how the federal government would legally use these funds to pay military expenses without Congress’ involvement.

The U.S. president announced on the 23rd that a "friend" of his had sent a check for $130 million to the government to pay the wages of the U.S. military. "He called us the other day and said,'I'm willing to contribute to any shortfall caused by the Democratic shutdown,' he said. I am willing to contribute personally because I love the army and the country.'".

It was unclear who the donor was, and the U.S. president said he would not disclose the person's identity unless he received permission, noting that the person did not want any recognition.

US media quoted the Hindustan Times as speculating that Tesla CEO Musk or his entrepreneur friend Jared Isaacman may be donors. Recently, Musk is working hard to secure the position of National Aeronautics and Space Administration Administrator (NASA) for Isaacman.
