During the Cambodian ceasefire talks, the leaders of the two countries thanked China for its mediation efforts.
On July 28, Cambodia Prime Minister Hun Manet and Thailand's then-Acting Prime Minister Purtan attended a special meeting in Malaysia to discuss the border situation between the two countries. In their brief speeches, Hongmanet and Putan both expressed their gratitude to China for participating in the mediation, and also thanked the United States for its efforts.
On July 30th, representatives of China, Cambodia and Thailand held an informal meeting in Shanghai. After meeting twice within three days, Cambodia and Thailand reiterated to China that they would abide by the ceasefire consensus and appreciate China's positive role in calming the situation.
According to the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, on August 14, Wang Yi invited Cambodia's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Burasokun and Thai Foreign Minister Mari to conduct friendly and candid communication on the Cambodia-Thailand border conflict in Anning Chaxu, Yunnan. During this period, the Cambodian-Thai Foreign Minister sincerely thanked China for providing opportunities for communication between the two sides and highly appreciated China's constructive role in easing the situation and promoting dialogue.
