Palestinian factions issued a statement following a meeting in the Egyptian capital Cairo on Monday, reiterating their support for and continued implementation of the ceasefire agreement and calling for the withdrawal of Israeli occupying forces from the Gaza Strip.

On the same day, Palestinian factions held a meeting in Cairo to follow up the implementation of the ceasefire agreement in Gaza. The statement stressed that a unified national position and a unified national political vision are needed at the current stage. The statement opposes any form of Israeli annexation and population expulsion in the Gaza Strip, the West Bank and Jerusalem. The statement stressed that the administrative power of the Gaza Strip should be handed over to the Palestinian Interim Committee composed of independent technocrats from the Gaza Strip. Palestinian factions agreed to set up an international committee to supervise the funding and implementation of the reconstruction of the Gaza Strip. The statement also stressed the need to strengthen the unity of the Palestinian political system. All Palestinian factions will take all necessary measures to maintain the security and stability of the whole Gaza Strip.

The Palestinian factions will continue to work together to unite their visions and positions and call on all Palestinian forces and factions to convene an emergency meeting to agree on a unified national strategy to address the challenges facing the Palestinian cause.
