Lithuania says two Russian aircraft briefly entered its airspace

On October 23, local time, the Ministry of Defense of Lithuania stated that two Russian aircraft entered the country's airspace on the evening of the 23rd, so two Spanish fighter jets deployed by NATO in the country were mobilized to take off urgently and patrol the airspace.

Lithuania's Ministry of Defense said two Russian aircraft entered Lithuania's airspace about 790 meters and flew for about 18 seconds, possibly conducting exercises in the Kaliningrad enclave.

The Russian Defense Ministry issued a statement on the night of October 23 that the Russian Su-30 fighter aircraft performed a routine training flight over Kaliningrad on the same day. the statement stressed that the flight training activities strictly comply with the rules of the Russian Federation airspace use, and the relevant monitoring data showed that the military aircraft did not deviate from the route and did not violate the borders of other countries.
