U.S. Secretary of State Rubio, who is on a visit to Israel, met with Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu on Monday and held a brief joint press conference.
Netanyahu said,"We are facing a fateful moment." Israel hopes to continue to promote peace, but must also address security challenges.
Rubio said recent intensive visits by several senior U.S. officials, including Middle East Special Envoy Witkov, Kushner, Vice President Wences and himself, showed that U.S. President Donald Trump would consider consolidating the Gaza ceasefire agreement as a priority. Rubio said that in a short period of time, the parties have established a series of operational systems and there is still a lot of work to be done, but the parties are confident that they will ultimately reach the goal.
