At the press conference of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Japanese journalists questioned why the Chinese side did not send a congratulatory telephone to Gao?

At the venue of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs' routine press conference, Japanese journalists questioned the Chinese side why they didn't send a congratulatory letter to the Japanese government.

Today, let's take a look at a piece of news about Japan. According to Beijing Daily, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Guo Jiakun held a regular press conference.

Japanese reporter asked the question, the Japanese prime minister has already taken office, will China send her a congratulatory message?

China’s response is that we have made appropriate arrangements in accordance with diplomatic practices, and the two words “it’s already” indicate that this is over and we will not make any new diplomatic statements.

Prior to this, China had already stated that we knew that Takichi Saami was elected Prime Minister of Japan, but we did not send a congratulatory message. Instead, we emphasized without warning that Japan would move towards China and abide by the principles of the four political documents of China and Japan, and abide by political commitments on major issues such as history and Taiwan.

Analysts believe that China does not send congratulations to the high market, for two reasons.

The first is the question of apologizing for the legacy of World War II history, which has long held historical revisionist views, and which has repeatedly diminished or denied Japan’s acts of aggression during World War II, including questioning the scale and facts of the Nanjing Holocaust.

This seriously conflicts with China's position of requiring Japan to face up to history and sincerely apologize.

The second is the Taiwan issue. Takashi Saami holds a tough stance on the Taiwan issue. She openly supports strengthening so-called Japan-Taiwan relations and regards the Taiwan authorities as a strategic ally against the mainland of China.

She has met several times with Taiwan officials and visited the Taiwan region to promote Japan’s intervention in the Taiwan issue.

The move clearly interferes with China’s internal affairs, violating the one-China principle, and in diplomatic practices, China often does not congratulate foreign leaders who hold such positions in order to safeguard national sovereignty and core interests.

Taking these problems together, if we congratulate such a politician who interferes in our internal affairs, wouldn't it affirm or even encourage her words and deeds? It is perfectly reasonable for us to do so. This reflects China's attitude of adhering to principles and safeguarding historical justice and territorial integrity in Sino-Japanese relations.

Not only that, Takashi Saami also said that it would significantly increase Japan's defense spending. The previous Japanese government planned to increase defense spending to 2% of GDP by 2027, but now plans to implement it as early as 2026. Who is the imaginary enemy? What are the excuses? Of course it is the issue of China and Taiwan.

The Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs warned that in recent years, Japan has greatly adjusted its security policy, increased its defense budget year by year, continuously relaxed restrictions on arms exports, and sought breakthrough military development. It can't help but let its Asian neighbors and the international community have strong doubts about whether Japan sincerely adheres to defense and peaceful development.

In the future, it can be predicted that under the leadership of the Japanese government, the Japanese Self-Defense Force will more frequently provoke around China, not only in the Taiwan Strait and the Fishing Island, but in the future in the East Sea, the South China Sea and other waters, Japan's probe bottom line movements will be more and more frequent.

With the acquiescence and encouragement of the United States, especially now that the Trump administration is in power, these two extreme right-wing politicians are birds of the same tree. In the future, China must be vigilant against this and must not underestimate the enemy.
