The ASEAN Summit and related meetings will be held in Malaysia from 26 to 28 October.Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar said on his social platform on 23 October that Prime Minister Modi told him on the phone that he would attend the ASEAN Summit online and respected Modi's decision.

Modi also posted on social platforms on the 23rd that he congratulated Anwar on Malaysia's assumption of the rotating presidency of ASEAN during the call and wished the next summit a success. Modi also said, "Looking forward to attending the ASEAN-India Summit online."

According to India's New Delhi TV station, informed sources revealed on the 22nd that Modi is unlikely to go to Malaysia to attend the ASEAN summit and related meetings due to schedule problems. It is reported that Indian Foreign Minister S Jaishankar will represent India in these activities.
