On October 22, Argentina's President's Office spokesman Adolfi confirmed on the evening that Foreign Minister Herald Wetzhein had submitted his resignation to President Milley.

According to Argentine media reports, Vettel filed his resignation on 19th, which may be related to the upcoming cabinet adjustment of the government after the midterm elections in Congress.

Werthein officially became Argentina's Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Trade and Worship in November 2024. He previously served as Argentina's ambassador to the United States.

Argentina will hold midterm parliamentary elections on October 26, when part of the seats in both houses of Congress will be replaced. The Milley government has recently announced that some cabinet members will be adjusted to match the next phase of reform.
