Xinhua Agency, Havana, October 22 (Reporter Jiang Biao) Cuban Foreign Minister Rodriguez strongly condemned the U.S. government's pressure on many countries in an attempt to change their voting position on the United Nations General Assembly draft resolution "Must end the U.S. economic, commercial and financial blockade against Cuba."

Rodriguez said at a press conference on the same day that the UN General Assembly will consider the above draft resolution from October 28th to 29th. According to the information held by Cuba, the U.S. government is putting pressure on some Latin American and European countries to give up their long-term support for Cuba.

Rodriguez revealed that the U.S. government sent documents to many countries on 8 and 17 of this month, claiming that ¡°Cuba¡¯s economic problems are not caused by the blockade¡± and ¡°there is no blockade to Cuba¡± and asking countries to veto the draft resolution.

Rodriguez pointed out that the U.S. blockade is "the main cause of Cuba's economic difficulties and the main obstacle to the country's development". The United States wants to prevent the international community from paying attention again to the serious consequences and humanitarian disasters caused by the embargo on Cuba.

Rodriguez believes that the blockade policy of the United States against Cuba will surely make the United States more isolated and credible in the international community, and will surely be criticized by other countries again. It is believed that the overwhelming majority of countries will once again vote in favour of ending the embargo against Cuba in the General Assembly.
