US President Donald Trump confirmed on October 22 that he had cancelled the plan for the recent meeting of US-Russian leaders, because the current meeting would not yield results.

During a meeting with NATO Secretary-General Luther in the White House that afternoon, Trump told the media that he had canceled the planned recent meeting in Hungary with Russian President Putin on the Ukraine issue, because he felt the timing was not right, the current meeting "cannot reach the goal", and he will meet with Putin "at some point in the future".

Trump also said that learning to operate the high-precision Tomahawk long-range cruise missile "requires at least six months, usually one year, of intensive training", and the US military will not teach other countries how to operate it.

Rutte said that he visited the White House to discuss with Trump how to end the Russia-Ukraine conflict, but there is currently no peace plan that can be put on the negotiating table.
