According to several Korean media reports such as the Associated Press, U.S. Secretary of State Rubio will visit South Korea next week, the first time since he took office.

The U.S. State Department announced on the 22nd that rubio will go to Malaysia, Japan and South Korea from 26th to 30th after visiting Israel from the same day to 25th.

However, the report also said that the visit to South Korea was not led by rubio, but in the form of a visit with US President Trump. Trump will attend the ASEAN Summit in Malaysia, and then travel to South Korea via Tokyo, Japan to attend the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Leaders' Informal Meeting, during which the Korea-US summit is expected to be held.

During his visit to South Korea, Rubio is expected to meet with officials such as South Korean Foreign Minister Zhao Zhao and South Korean National Security Chief Wei Sanlo.
