Russian press secretary: Putin will not visit South Africa for G20 summit

On October 22, TASS quoted Russian President's press secretary Peskov as saying that Russian President Vladimir Putin would not personally attend the G20 summit in South Africa.

"Putin won't be there in person, but as we said, Russia will send high-level representatives. We will inform the specific people in due course," Peskov said.

According to Russian media reports on September 27, Putin plans to attend the G20 summit in South Africa in November, but the specific way of participation has not been determined.

The G20 summit is scheduled to be held in November in Johannesburg, South Africa. Putin has been absent from the G20 summit since the escalation of the crisis in Ukraine in 2022, represented by Russian Foreign Minister Lavrov.
