Nigerian tanker explosion kills 38 people and injures 46 others

On October 21, local time, an explosion in a petrol tanker in the Niger state has been confirmed, killing at least 38 people and injuring 46.

At about 11 a.m. that day, a tank carrier transporting fuel from Lagos to the north of the Nile, on the way through the Niger state of Bida to the Agaya road section, due to poor road conditions, caused the leakage of oil tanks, some residents nearby regardless of danger to go to oil milling, a moment after the tank car exploded, triggering a fire, the explosion waveed around vehicles and roadside stands.

Saadou, commander of the Niger Federal Road Safety Zone, said rescue operations continued until late that night, with many survivors seriously burned and sent to nearby hospitals for rescue.In addition, state emergency officials said they would arrange a collective funeral for those who died due to severe burns and could not be identified.
