All 30 countries put pressure on Trump and strongly support Trump. Russia and Ukraine must stop fighting. Another Korean Peninsula?

After Zelensky's triumph, despite Zelensky's unwillingness to accept Trump's proposal for a ceasefire, dozens of EU countries such as Britain, France and Germany also issued joint statements in support of Trump's ceasefire agreement, does this mean that Ukraine will enter the Korean Peninsula model and become a direct confrontation between Russia and the Western world?

Russia supports Trump's immediate ceasefire demands

Zelensky of the "Triple House" was again humiliated in the White House, he was blasted by Trump in the meeting with Trump, and no hope for Ukraine to recover all the land, demanding that the Donbass area be assigned to Putin in exchange for a ceasefire in the Russian-Ukrainian conflict.

Zelensky did not acknowledge Trump's assertion after the meeting, saying that Ukraine could also write Russia's two states into the constitution, allow Russia to assign land to Ukraine, and negotiate with the EU to deal with.

This countermeasure was quickly discussed, but this countermeasure may be somewhat different from Zelensky's expectation. The European Union, Britain, Norway, and Ukraine issued a joint statement, which mentioned that they supported and agreed with Trump's proposal. An immediate ceasefire, that is, taking the current line of contact on the front line as the starting point for negotiations, stated that it would strengthen sanctions against Russia's economy and defense industry, and mentioned that international borders should not be changed by force.

From this point of view, the statements of these countries have practically no meaning to Russia, the Russian foreign trade itself is completely broken with these countries, and the Russian overseas assets are still frozen by these people; while in the defense industry Russia has long realized self-sufficiency, as far as the so-called international borders should not be changed by force, is actually opposed to the Russian struggle in the Donbass region, because the Russian military has achieved practical control over most of the region.

Russia will not accept Donbass’s frozen front

Prior to Zelensky's meeting with Trump, Putin also called Trump, in which Putin said Russia's ceasefire was conditional on Ukrainian troops withdrawing from the Donbass region in exchange for Russian troops withdrawing from the frozen front in the Donbass and Zaporozhye region.

The Donbass region is mainly composed of Luhansk and Donetsk. Among them, the Luhansk region has been completely controlled by the Russian army. Therefore, the main offensive firepower of the Russian army is concentrated in the Donetsk region, and the Red Army city in Donetsk region has become a competition point between Russia and Ukraine.

The Russian army captured the Red Army City and could attack, retreat, and defend

Given the strategic location of the Red Army city, the control of the entire Donbass region by the Russian army was only a matter of time, and it was able to use it as a base to support the Zaporozhye region.

Therefore, the Ukrainian side did not want to give up the territory, even in the case of full siege, still putting a large number of troops in the Red Army city and fighting the Russian army at the end.

But now the situation has no hope for the Ukrainian army in the Red Army city. Therefore, a ceasefire and freezing the front line is the best choice for Ukraine, at least to ensure the control of the Red Army city.

However, the result of freezing the front line in the Donbas region is unacceptable to Russia. What he wants is to control the entire Donbas region in exchange for freezing the front line in the Khersson and Zaporizhé regions. If freezing the front line in the Donbas region, in Russia's view, this is more like a delaying tactic. Ukraine may tear up the agreement and launch an attack at any time, and Western countries will also support Ukraine during this period.

More importantly, if Russia agrees to a truce, Ukraine may evolve into the Korean Peninsula model: according to the content of the previous peace agreement, western countries will send joint troops into Ukraine, so that NATO troops will enter Ukraine, and Russia and NATO will form a direct confrontation on the "38th parallel" in Ukraine, which runs counter to Russia's goal of establishing a buffer zone. What Russia wants is that Ukraine will remain independent, but the Russian army controls part of eastern Ukraine as a buffer zone against the western camp.

Moreover, given the current situation of the Russian army in the region, it is obviously at an advantage. After a period of time, it will be a definite move to win the region. If freezing the front line is equivalent to saying that Russia has surrendered to the United States and Western countries, this is also something Russia cannot accept. Therefore, the United States and Russia have never reached an agreement on the terms of the ceasefire. In this case, it will be up to who can last the longest and wait until the other party takes the initiative to make concessions.
