Xinhua Agency, Ljubljana, October 21 (Reporter Zhou Yue) French President Macron and Slovenia President Musar, who are visiting Slovenia, said on the 21st that they hope the peace agreement in Gaza can pave the way for the establishment of an independent Palestinian state. Slovenia’s presidential office said in a statement that the two presidents supported the implementation of the Gaza peace agreement and hoped it would be a first step toward achieving lasting peace and political stability in the region and ultimately promoting the establishment of an independent Palestinian state. The two presidents also said that peacekeeping forces should be deployed in Gaza to ensure the safe and smooth delivery of humanitarian assistance to the local population. Slovenia and France officially recognized the Palestinian state in June 2024 and September 2025 respectively.
