Live broadcast on October 22nd-In an interview with German media 11Freunde, Bayern director Ebel talked about the team's failure to sign Wirtz and Walter Mader this summer.
Tan Wirtz
“For him, we all thought we wanted to bring him to Bayern, and the club naturally did its best to convince the player, hoping he could help the team win more championships in the next decade with Mussiaella. But of course we also assessed the extent to which our offer could be the highest, and we know we are able to bear his salary, but we are not sure how much money Lewandowski would get, especially when another top club also joined the competition.”
What about Walter Mudd? Why are Bayern unwilling to pay a high price for him?
"Every investment must be worth it in the long run and we set a cap on Walter Mudd's transfer fee and reached that cap in our offer to Stuttgart. This situation is common in transfers and can sometimes be the cause of deals falling apart. However, Walter Mudd is still a very good player and an excellent person in our opinion. He and Wiltz are different types of players. But in the end, we decided to stick to our budget strategy."
