French prosecutors: Louvre stolen items worth approximately 88 million euros

French prosecutor Laurent Becqueau said on Monday that the stolen items in the Louvre were estimated to be worth approximately 88 million euros.

On October 19, local time, four masked men came outside the Louvre, worked together to operate the lifting device, sneaked into the room from the exterior balcony of the building, snatched away the displayed jewelry, and threatened the museum security with an angle grinder. Four perpetrators are still at large. Prosecutors initially determined that this was an organized crime. The Louvre was temporarily closed on the 19th.

The Louvre is a landmark building in Paris, the capital of France, which receives millions of visitors every year. The Louvre has been stolen several times, and the painting "Mona Lisa" was stolen in 1911 until two years later it was returned.
