Russian media: The Russian Federal Security Service said it captured a Ukrainian agent and released footage of the on-site arrest

According to "Russia Today" (RT), the Russian news agency, the Russian Federal Security Bureau announced on Tuesday (21 December) the capture of a Ukrainian agent, who is suspected of collecting military intelligence and transmission to the Ukrainian intelligence department.

The report cited the Russian Federal Security Service as saying that the 20-year-old Russian citizen was believed to have traveled to Ukraine between 2019 and 2020 and met with members of the Ukrainian armed forces there. After the escalation of the conflict in Russia in 2022, he allegedly shared details of the location of air defense systems in Moscow and Krasnodar region via social media channels.

According to the report, during the interrogation, the man admitted to traveling to Ukraine, attending political rallies and cooperating with Ukrainian military and intelligence personnel.

RT mentioned that at present, Russia is investigating the man for treason, and the maximum penalty for this crime is life imprisonment. The Russian court has also ordered the suspect to continue to be detained during the investigation.
