According to reports, the Supreme Court of South Korea found that there was a "property calculation error" in the second-instance judgment, and ruled that the divorce property division case between Cui Taiyuan and Lu Suying should be sent back for retrial. The Supreme Court of South Korea held that the contribution of Lu Suying and his father Lu Taiyu to SK Group should be recognized, but the proportion of property division needs to be reassessed.
Cui Taiyuan then issued a statement saying that he would "let the truth come out through retrial" to safeguard the reputation of SK Group. Some analysts believe that the retrial may reduce the amount of property division and reduce the pressure on Cui Taiyuan to sell SK shares. The market value of SK Group exceeds US $100 billion. If Cui Taiyuan's shareholding is greatly reduced, it may cause turmoil in the stock market. Kim Tae-hoon, a Korean financial analyst, said: "The retrial bought time for President Cui, but Lu Suying's public support should not be underestimated."
The controversial focus in the property-sharing sentence is that Lushing's father, former South Korean President Luthy Gong, allegedly provided the father of Truthy Source, the former chairman of SK Group, Truthy Gong Shui, about 30 billion yuan of "secret funds", this money can be considered as an "indirect contribution" made by Lushing to the development of SK Group, became an important consideration for the court to measure the division of property.
Roh Tae-woo was jailed in 1996 for corruption. South Korea's Supreme Court pointed out,"Even if Roh Tae-woo did provide 30 billion won to Chairman Choi's father, Roh Tae-woo provided the huge bribes he received to in-laws or children and their spouses without being secretive, making it impossible for the state to pursue and recover. It is obviously anti-social, immoral, and unethical behavior, violates good customs and other social orders, and is therefore not within the scope of legal protection. The lower court regarded Lu Taiyu's financial support as Lu Suying's contribution, which also affected the calculation of the property division ratio. Therefore, it overturned part of the lower court's judgment on the property division counterclaim and sent it back for retrial."
However, the Supreme Court of South Koreained the sentence of 2 billion yuan in spiritual compensation, while in the previous South Korean divorce case sentence, the mental compensation amounted to less than 100 million yuan.

Li Donghai, a family law expert at the South Korean Bar Association, said that while the public did not look forward to Kim Jong-un’s conversion, in fact, Qingdao was actively appealing in December 2024, showing that he wanted to accelerate the fact of divorce and was willing to make concessions in the property. Currently, once the legal facts of divorce are established (expected to be completed within a few weeks), Qingdao source has the freedom to marry again with Qingdao.
