According to a report by the Ukrainian Interfax news agency on October 20, Ukrainian President Zelensky said in a meeting with reporters on the 19th that Ukraine is preparing to sign an order agreement involving 25 "Patriot" air defense missile systems with US defense companies.
Zelensky said that Uzbekistan has communicated with U.S. air defense weapons manufacturers and is preparing an order agreement involving 25 Patriot air defense missile systems, which may be delivered in batches annually.
Zelensky said that since several countries have previously signed "patriot" order agreements, the Ukrainian side needs to "line up". he also said that if the relevant countries are willing, the US can change the order of supply.
Zelensky said Russia’s frozen overseas assets could be seen as a priority source of funding for the acquisition of the “patriots.”
