Russian Foreign Minister Lavrov commented on the Russian-Ukrainian conflict and the meeting of Russian-American leaders.The proposal for an immediate ceasefire is equivalent to ignoring the roots of the conflict and is contrary to the previous consensus reached by the presidents of the two countries.The Russian side insists on the position reached by the Russian-American leaders at the meeting in Alaska on the Ukraine issue.

Lavrov reiterated that the objectives of the special military operation are gradually being achieved and will inevitably the final victory.

Lavrov also said he would continue to communicate by telephone with U.S. Secretary of State Rubio.
